Building and creating wealth, driving revenue, being a successful businessman or woman—that’s all-important, and I’m a firm believer in that, but every owner needs a purpose in life (The ultimate bucket!).
Owners don’t commonly think in terms of bucket-lists, but they really should because the only reason to be an owner is to enjoy life. Sure, making good money and being the “King of your castle” is great, but if you’re not enjoying your life, then what the hell is the point?
When you create a bucket list, you should approach it seriously, because one day you’re going to be dead. The only thing people are going to judge you on, in the end, is what kind of person you were, and how you lived your life.
Personally, my bucket list is a breathing testament to what I want to accomplish from a social and emotional perspective. If you are a hard driving Type-A personality owner, I would suggest you create a bucket-list and write it in ink, not pencil, and stick to it. You will enjoy the fruits of your efforts more, and so will the ones you care about.
Before the year’s end, I challenge you to make a bucket-list for yourself, and design it to run parallel to your business plan. Set goals for yourself that focus on what you want to accomplishthroughout the year from a business perspective, financial perspective, and a personal perspective, and don’t lose sight of what you’ve dedicated to paper!
If you are struggling to put pen to paper, and not sure how you’d like to grow, both personally and organizationally, then feel free to message me at @moscasmallbiz or call 800-743-0402. I’d love to hear from you.
