After graduating with an MBA from Harvard Business School, George Cloutier realized that countless small business owners have a tough time maintaining or growing their companies.

From day-to-day operations to accomplishing short and long term goals, George could tell that many owners struggled to run and manage their businesses successfully.

While there were other business consulting firms already in existence, he noticed they were more geared towards larger corporations.

In 1986, George founded American Management Services as a way to deliver the same high quality business consulting services enjoyed by larger corporations, to smaller, independently-owned organizations.

The company was originally started with $42,000 in capital and one employee.

That one employee was responsible for managing operations, networking, sales, conducting the on-site business analysis, and consulting with business owners…

George himself.

Unlike many consulting companies, George practiced what he preached in a true entrepreneurial fashion. From the ground up, he created a company culture that lived and breathed the words:
